About Epoch

Epoch is a New York based US and global equity investment manager formed in 2004 by four experienced professionals who foresaw a significant change in both the drivers of investment returns and the structure of investment management firms. Bill Priest, Epoch’s CEO and Co-CIO, is an industry veteran with more than 45 years investment experience.

Since inception Epoch has been a public company, with all of the rigorous disclosure requirements. (NASDAQ listed, ticker EPHC).

A fundamental belief at Epoch is that their products should have small teams of investment professionals managing a strategy, but with one individual ultimately responsible for the performance of the portfolio. Supporting that person is the entire research team effort of the firm. Epoch’s Head of the Quantitative Research & Risk Management group is also a co-portfolio manager on all their funds which highlights the importance of risk management and quantitative input into their investment process.

Epoch believe that prudent stock selection based on free cash flow analysis and portfolio construction enhanced by strong risk management capabilities is the optimal way to produce superior risk adjusted returns.

All Epoch’s investment strategies are managed in accordance with this investment philosophy. They analyse a company in the same manner a private investor would if looking to purchase the entire company and only invest in companies they understand and where they have confidence in its financial position. Epoch looks for companies that generate free cash flow and securities that have unrecognised potential yet possess a combination of above average yield, above average free cash flow growth, and/or below average valuation.

Global Choice is a highly concentrated equity strategy that invests according to the firm’s core investment philosophy. The goal of Global Choice is to leverage this philosophy within a portfolio of 20-35 securities which capture key trends in the global economy.
